How to Die in Oregon

When Peter Richardson's documentary on physician assisted suicide screened at the Sundance Film Festival last year, the New York Times called it one of the most difficult to watch movies of the festival. Richardson followed terminally ill patients deciding when - or if - to end their own lives. He says the film isn't about death and dying as much as it is about life and living. HOW TO DIE IN OREGON is screening in Salt Lake City on Tuesday, so we're rebroadcasting our conversation with Peter Richardson. (Rebroadcast)

HOW TO DIE IN OREGON is Portland-based filmmaker Peter Richardson's second feature documentary. Richardson also directed, produced, edited and co-photographed his debut feature "Clear Cut: the Story of Philomath, Oregon", which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2006.

On Tuesday, May 29th at 7:00 p.m., the Utah Film Center will present a free screening of HOW TO DIE IN OREGON at the Salt Lake City Public Library. Peter Richardson will give a Q and A via Skype immediately following the film. For more information, click here.
