The Republican Party's Quest to Win the White House

After President Barack Obama won reelection in 2012, the Republican Party was lost in the wilderness. It was also firmly resolved to retake the White House. Political journalist McKay Coppins has had unparalleled access to every level of the Grand Old Party and in a new book he examines it warts and all: its deep passions, its larger-than-life personalities, and the dagger-sharp power plays. Coppins joins us Monday to take us behind the scenes of the Republican party as it gears up for 2016.

McKay Coppins is a senior political writer at BuzzFeed covering national politics, the Republican Party, and the conservative movement. His new book is called The Wilderness: Deep Inside the Republican Party's Combative, Contentious, Chaotic Quest to Take Back the White House [Amazon|Indiebound].
