Friday, we’re rebroadcasting our conversation with Utah journalist Matthew LaPlante about life and survival in one of the world’s most dangerous place, El Salvador.

The Trump administration recently announced it will end protected status of some 200,000 Salvadorans in the U.S. As Utah journalist Matthew LaPlante reported last year though, the homicide rate in El Salvador is 20 times higher than in the U.S. LaPlante went to El Salvador to try to understand the impact on children and the desperation of many families to get their kids out.
