Mike Birbiglia and Jokes

Brian Friedman
Mike Birbiglia

Tuesday, Doug sits down with comedian Mike Birbiglia, known by NPR fans for his stories from This American Life. His film Sleepwalk with Me won the audience award at last year's Sundance Film Festival, and he's just started touring a new show called Thank God for Jokes. Birbiglia says the show is a return to a more joke-based style of comedy. Why? Well, because he really loves jokes. We'll talk about his career, the forms his comedy has taken and the emotional power of well-crafted humor.

Mike Birbiglia will perform his show Thank God for Jokes this Thursday, January 23rd at Kingsbury Hall in Salt Lake City. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. For tickets and information, click here.
