Journalist Jennifer Senior says there's been a fundamental shift over the last 70 years in the way we think of childhood. It's become something precious and sheltered as parents focus more and more energy on their kids. That can mean real stress on marriages, health, careers and more. Parenting comes at a cost, and Senior has written a book that explores the effects of children on their parents. Thursday, she joins us to explain why modern parenthood is All Joy and No Fun.

Jennifer Senior is a contributing editor at New York Magazine and the author of All Joy and No Fun: The Paradox of Modern Parenthood [Amazon|Indiebound]
