Through the Lens: This Ain't No Mouse Music

"This Ain't No Mouse Music" profiles Chris Strachwitz, a modern-day Alan Lomax who fell in love with American roots music soon after immigrating to the U.S. from Germany in the '40s. He founded a record label that released albums of the blues, Mexican norteño, zydeco, Hillbilly country—basically any authentic, rootsy music that caught his ear.

On Thursday, October 2, Strachwitz joins us on RadioWest, along with filmmakers Maureen Gosling and Chris Simon, to talk about his love affair with music rooted in America’s heartland. Find the show here

On Wednesday, October 8, RadioWest and Utah Film Center will present a free screening at the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center. Doug Fabrizio will host a Q&A with Chris Strachwitz, Maureen Gosling, and Chris Simon immediately following the film. Learn more.
