This year’s session was characterized by debates both national and local: Utah lawmakers grappled with the banning of certain books and COVID-19 policy, as well as the state of Great Salt Lake. There were bills dealing with the eligibility of trans student athletes to play sports on the teams of their preferred gender; to address Utah’s ongoing affordable housing crisis; whether to repeal the death penalty, and more. KUER politics reporters and hosts of the podcast State Street Sonja Hutson and Emily Means will be with us, along with The Salt Lake Tribune’s Robert Gehrke, to break down this round of lawmaking. Join us this Friday at 11 a.m. and again at 7 p.m.
