Last Friday, CNN revealed a series of text messages sent between former White House Chief of Staff and Utah Senator Mike Lee. The texts have raised questions about Lee’s involvement in the Trump administration’s efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election.

Sen. Lee’s supporters point out that he showed alarm at the Jan. 6, 2021, attacks on the US Capitol. But critics say the language in his texts depict a man very eager to find a legal pathway to give Trump a second term. This Friday at 11 a.m., we’re considering whether Senator Lee’s texts and behavior will help or hinder his re-election campaign, and what this moment says about his tenure in Washington.
