**As the longtime editor of The New Yorker, David Remnick has profiled many of rock n’ roll and pop music’s greatest performers, often later in their lives.**

And that’s by design: because Remnick is seriously fascinated by the musicians who, even decades into their careers, are still at it—still making music and, most of all, still on the stage. Remnick’s new book “Holding the Note” is a collection of profiles of some of the real legends of the genre, people like Bruce Springsteen, Aretha Franklin, and Leonard Cohen—who once got angry with Remnick for being late. David Remnick joins us to talk about the rock stars who just won’t quit.
