How Mike Lee Came to Support Trump

/
Open Verse

In 2016, Utah’s Senator Mike Lee tried to stop Donald Trump from becoming the president. Today, he might become Trump’s attorney general.

Lee is one of many Republicans who started out in the “Never Trump” crowd, only to bend the knee later on as Trump assumed control of the party — and the presidency. Utah’s own governor Spencer Cox made the switch mere weeks ago. In a new article for The Atlantic, the journalist Tim Alberta tells the story of Lee’s conversion to Trump. He’ll join us to talk about how the man who, in 2016 tried to sabotage Trump’s convention win, came to be one of the former president’s loudest cheerleaders.
