The Unbroken Streak

Kelyn Ikegami
/
The Streak Movie

In 1987, the Salt Lake Trappers were an unaffiliated rookie league team at the very bottom of the ranks. By the end of their season, they had earned a place in the National Baseball Hall of Fame for the longest winning streak in the sport’s history. 38 years later, that record is still unbroken.

The team was made up of players who had always dreamed of making it to the big leagues — but none had been drafted. They arrived in Salt Lake City with a chip on their shoulders and something to prove. What happened next put the city — and the team — in the national spotlight. Today on RadioWest, we're talking about the Salt Lake Trappers, the longest winning streak in baseball, that time Bill Murray and Huey Lewis showed up at the ballpark, and what happens when the spotlight fades.

"The Streak" will screen at The Broadway Centre Cinemas from Aug. 22 - Aug. 28. You can find more information here.
