Wednesday, we’re talking to scholar Eugenia Cheng about the art of logic. There’s a lot of contentious debate in our culture, and Cheng says it feels very futile. So, she turns to mathematics to provide a template for conversation. It requires finding a common starting point and understanding the justifications that lead people to their opinions. Cheng4 joins us to talk about how logical reasoning – complemented by our emotions – can transform the way we think about our shared challenges.

Eugenia Cheng is a mathematician and the scientist in residence at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her new book is called The Art of Logic in an Illogical World [Indie bookstores|Amazon|Audible].
