The State of the Utah Electorate

Voters turned out in overwhelming numbers for the Democratic Party caucuses in Utah last week.

According to a recent poll, if the Republicans nominated Donald Trump as president, the unthinkable could happen. Utah could vote for a Democratic president for the first time in decades. So what is it about the business tycoon that rubs reliably-Republican Utahns the wrong way? Why does Bernie Sanders enjoy such popularity here? And has Mitt Romney actually stemmed Trump's tide? Monday, a panel of guests joins us to examine the state of the local electorate in the lead up to a pivotal election.

Doug Fabrizio has been reporting for KUER News since 1987, and became News Director in 1993. He has won numerous awards for his reporting and for his work with RadioWest and KUED's Utah NOW from such organizations as the Society of Professional Journalists, the Utah Broadcasters Association, the Public Radio News Directors Association and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
