2021 Oscar Nominated Film Scores

Renee Bright
/
KUER

It’s Oscars season again, which means it’s time for RadioWest to talk about the films nominated for one of our favorite awards — best original score.

This year’s nominees are Da 5 Bloods, Mank, Minari, News of the World and Soul. Our guest is Edmund Stone, host of All Classical Public Media's weekly program The Score, who says the best film music supports the action on screen, and never overwhelms it. Ahead of this Sunday's awards show, join us for a conversation Friday at noon about the nominated film scores, composing movie scores during a pandemic and the increasing diversity in Hollywood. Most of all, though, join us for the music.
