Heather McGhee And The Hidden Cost Of Racism

Renee Bright
/
KUER

We know that racism is dangerous to a healthy society — physically dangerous, morally dangerous and also, Heather McGhee argues, economically dangerous for everyone in the country.

A social policy and economic expert, McGhee writes in her book The Sum of Us that, “We lose when we buy into the zero-sum paradigm — the idea that progress for some of us must come at the expense of others.” We’ll talk with her Friday at noon about the significance of having honest conversations about past and present racism and about the true story of the hidden costs of racism. (Rebroadcast)
