The 1981 film Raiders of the Lost Ark is a cultural icon. Less known is the true story of the 1909 expedition lead by British nobleman Montagu Parker to find the Ark of the Covenant.

In his new book, True Raiders, author Brad Ricca brings Parker’s story to life. Dared by a beautiful woman and armed with secret knowledge of the Ark’s location — apparently decoded from the Bible itself by a Finnish priest — Parker and a band of fellow adventurers set out for Jerusalem to unearth the holy relic. Ricca joins us this Friday at noon for to recount this real-life adventure story.
