"Preach" host Lee Hale

Lee Hale says faith is complicated. In his podcast Preach, he talks to people in the messy middle of belief — not fully bought into religion, not out of it either. At age 19, he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and now his relationship to Mormonism is, well, messy, too.

Lee Hale says that faith is complicated. And in his new podcast Preach, he talks to all kinds of people who are in the messy middle of belief — not totally bought into religion, not wholly out of it either. Lee’s always on the lookout for what he calls magic moments in his interviews, instances of genuine surprise. His recollections of those moments is one part of the show; the other part is about Lee himself. At age 19, he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and now his relationship to Mormonism is, well, messy, too.
