In his latest book, the scholar Jared Diamond looks at how nations deal with moments of crisis. A lot of countries seem to be struggling these days, and the United States is no exception. Jared Diamond is a professor of geography at UCLA and the author of many books, including Guns, Germs and Steel, and The World Until Yesterday. His latest is Upheaval: Turning Points for Nations in Crisis [Indie bookstores|Amazon|Audible].
