The Lost Art Of Scripture

Michael Lionstar

On this New Year’s Day, we’re revisiting our 2019 conversation with religious scholar Karen Armstrong about the history of sacred text.

Sacred text – with their often ambiguous wording and metaphorical meanings – are ready-made for differing interpretations from various groups. In her book, The Lost Art of Scripture, Karen looks into the history of these texts, showing how religious practitioners' relationships with them have changed, and how many of us have lost sight of what they were originally written for. We’ll talk with Karen this Friday at noon MST.

Karen Armstrong’s book is The Lost Art of Scripture: Rescuing the Sacred  Texts. [IndieBound|Amazon|Audible]
