Recently we talked about about LDS temple garments and the Mormon women who aren’t comfortable wearing them. We’re also interested the history of these garments.
The idea came from a recent New York Times piece written by Ruth Graham. She wrote about the way that, for some women, the garments don’t fit, don’t breathe—they even create medical conditions or aggravate existing ones. For the history of LDS garments, we turned to the historian Benjamin Park. He’s an assistant professor at Sam Houston State University and the author of Kingdom of Nauvoo: The Rise and Fall of a Religious Empire on the American Frontier.
