Indeed, it was back in the 1880s that anti-vice activist Anthony Comstock said pornography was a cancer to society —an idea that people have been debating ever since. On one side, you’ve got people like Comstock, who believe that consuming pornography is destructive both to the individual and to the nation. On the other, there are sex-positive activists, who doubt whether pornography addiction is even possible. But sociologist Kelsy Burke says both sides may actually want the same thing: good sex, consent and meaningful relationships.
