Sketch for Snowbird Gondola

More than fifty years ago, there was a proposal to build a gondola from the base of Little Cottonwood Canyon to Snowbird Ski Resort. What if it was the right idea all along?

Dave Fields, the general manager of Snowbird, is one of the most prominent and outspoken proponents for a gondola to help solve the transportation problems in the canyon. He argues that it’s the cleanest, safest and most efficient solution. It will limit impacts on the watershed, wildlife, the land, and treasured climbing areas. We’ll hear from those opposing the gondola in a future show, but in the meantime, Fields joins us to make the case for what he has called a “generational fix to a historic problem.”
