Through the Lens: ‘Exposure’

Powderkeg Studios

In 2018, a group of inexperienced explorers — all women — set out on a journey that lots of people thought they couldn’t possibly finish: a trek to the North Pole.

They’d responded to a Facebook message, of all things, posted by Felicity Aston, the first woman ever to ski the hundred miles between Svalbard and the North Pole. And she specifically wanted women who weren’t seasoned adventurers. She assembled a team of European and Middle-Eastern women, trained them and made for the top of the world. The director Holly Morris captures the story in her documentary and we’ll talk with her today at 9 a.m. about their journey.

We will screen “Exposure” as part of our film series Through the Lens at the Salt Lake City Public Library this Wednesday, March 13, at 7 p.m. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Holly Morris and Doug Fabrizio.

Tickets are free, but RSVPs are appreciated. Details here.
