Do you find yourself struggling in conversations? Fear not. There’s actually science to help you get better at the art of talking with other people.

Alison Wood Brooks has spent years studying conversation, in the workplace, between friends and even at parole hearings. She says that getting just a little more skilled at effectively communicating — by choosing better topics, asking better questions, listening more closely and practicing kindness — has big consequences, personally and in the professional world, too. She even has a handy acronym to help you keep track. Hint: it’s the title of her new book. Alison Wood Brooks is joining us to talk about, well, how to be a better talker.

GUEST –

Alison Wood Brooks | Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School. Her new book is called “Talk: The Science of Conversation and the Art of Being Ourselves” [Amazon | Bookshop].
