Lee says selling federally managed public land would help address the nation’s ongoing housing crisis, and he’s been working on a bill to make it happen as part of Congress’ budget reconciliation process. Then a map was released last week showing how much public land, and where, could be sold under his proposal. The backlash was intense and immediate. And it looks like he may have to find another way to advance his legislation. We’re talking about Lee's evolving bill and exploring why some conservatives oppose the idea of selling America’s public lands.
