Oaks was trained in the law. He served as a Utah Supreme Court justice and has become known for a conservative attitude and traditional viewpoint on issues like religious freedom, family structure, gender and sexuality. Throughout his ministry, Oaks has consistently stressed the importance of strengthening family bonds and urged members of the LDS Church to resist broader cultural shifts toward fewer marriages and lower birth rates. Historian Benjamin Park will join us for a conversation about Dallin H. Oakes and what his leadership will mean for the LDS Church.
