It was Kevin O’Leary’s much derided Stratos Project that turned Kelgreen onto the idea. On the one hand, he was seeing people he knew decrying the Box Elder project and other data centers. On the other hand, Kelgreen also knew that most people who use the technology enabled by data centers — things like computers, smartphones and, yes, artificial intelligence — won’t be giving it up any time soon. He noticed something of a knowledge gap, too: there are tons of data centers already operating in Utah, and doing so without public protest. So, he decided to make something that both shows where each data center is and also explains what we can do to make them better, because they aren’t going anywhere. He’s joining us to talk about his project, and we’ll get an update on what’s happening with data centers in Utah right now.
