RadioWest and Utah Film Center have partnered to present the best in documentary filmmaking. We talk with established and new directors who are changing the way audiences see the world and then screen their films.

Through the Lens: Nuts!

The next documentary in our Through the Lens series is a true story of desperation, scams, and goat testicles. Director Penny Lane joins us to talk about John Romulus Brinkley, a man who claimed to have a cure for impotence and many other ailments in 1920s Kansas. He took to newfangled radio to tout his unorthodox treatments, but soon found his nemesis in one Morris Fishbein, editor of the Journal of the American Medical Association. Lane’s film is called NUTS!

On Wednesday, July 12, RadioWest and the Utah Film Center will present a free screening of Nuts! as part of our Through the Lens series. It's at 7:00 p.m. at the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center and director Penny Lane will join us for a Q-and-A immediately following the screening. You can get more information, and invite your friends, through our Facebook event.
