Through the Lens: The Square

We continue our Through the Lens documentary series with a portrait of activism and unrest from Cairo's Tahrir Square. The film is called "The Square," and it offers a window into the emotional drama and personal stories behind the news. Director Jehane Noujaim describes the young Egyptians she follows as revolutionaries armed with nothing more than social media and YouTube videos. Noujaim and producer Karim Amer join us on RadioWest October 11, and we'll screen the film October 16.

On Wednesday, October 16 at 7:00 p.m., RadioWest and the Utah Film Center will present a screening of The Square at the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center in downtown Salt Lake City. It's part of our Through the Lens documentary series. Jehane Noujaim and producer Karim Amer will also be available for a Q&A following the free screening. Amer will be with us in person and Noujaim will join via Skype. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and seats are available on a first-come basis. [More Info]
