Utah voters approved Medicaid expansion in November, but since they opened their session a week ago, some lawmakers have been trying to change the initiative or repeal it all together. Should they?
We’re a week into Utah’s legislative session, and all eyes are on a fast-moving bill that some say would repeal Prop 3, the voter-approved Medicaid expansion plan. SB96 would reduce the number of people eligible for Medicaid, include a work requirement, and cap enrollment. Supporters say the changes are the fiscally responsible thing to do, while backers of Prop 3 say legislators are undermining the will of voters. Tuesday, we’re talking about the path forward for Medicaid expansion in Utah.
