Making Radio

Sep 25, 2013

Today we’re exploring how public radio works by hearing stories from some of the people who have really figured it out. Ira Glass will talk about how stories work and why natural sound doesn’t really matter. Terry Gross talks about the basics of doing an interview, and she tells the story of one conversation that went terribly wrong. We’ll also hear from Robert Krulwich and from Jad Abumrad of Radiolab on the importance of failure and how you stay relevant in a form that's been around for a very long time.
