In a new book, NPR media correspondent David Folkenflik profiles the world’s most influential media tycoon, Rupert Murdoch. As Folkenfilk shows, Murdoch started small and worked his way up to the very top. Along the way, he redefined the culture of news and the rules of journalism in unprecedented ways. He also came to personify the alarm evoked by the phrase “global media tycoon.” Folkenflik joins us Monday to explore Murdoch’s influence and to show how he survived the corruption scandal that nearly destroyed his media empire.
